Job Description

This is an outstanding opportunity to develop professional expertise and contribute to a specialized team in a dynamic role that combines part-time work for a defined period with full-time schooling. As a coop, the person in this position works closely with experts in the area of specialization or on teams to address critical business needs.

 

The co-op engineer will support the Manufacturing Engineering Team in key projects and day to day operations.

  • Part of the Plant Manufacturing Engineering Team is to focus on Efficiency, Safety,
    Ergonomics, Time Studies, Cost Reductions, New Product Introduction, Material Flow,
    Automation of Manufacturing Processes, Robotics, research and interaction with vendors
    for specialized automation/manufacturing solutions.
  •  Position requires an ‘action orientation,’ with high energy and enthusiasm, initiative to
    constantly improve operational processes, including replacing them altogether with latest
    available innovation and technology through collaboration and research.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
  • Familiar with analytical and CAD software.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of
    precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Successful candidate must commit to a One-Year-Program.
  • Strong organizational skills and the working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Exceptional skills with Excel preferred.
  • Ability to accept multiple projects and prioritize tasks to achieve time commitments.
  • Sense of urgency while focusing on high priority tasks.

 

Education Requirement

  • BS or MS student in an Engineering academic program at an accredited four-year University. Completed freshman year with a minimum GPA of 3.0
