Job Description

 

This engineer plans and designs manufacturing processes in an industrial plant. In addition, the engineer provides direct advisory support in the design, fabrication, modification and evaluation in support of manufacturing operations such as machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly and material handling.

 

In this high-visibility, high-impact role, you will be

  • Driving new product and process introductions and seeing your efforts result in new parts, assemblies, and products.
  • Coordinating the activities of Purchasing, Maintenance, Operations, and Quality to ensure timely factory readiness for new product launch events.
  • Leading cross-functional teams to investigate and implement new technology, equipment, and processes to increase production capacity and improve manufacturing operations.
  • Working with product development teams to ensure Design for Manufacturing principles are applied to new product designs.
  • Overseeing the preparation of plans, process specifications and procedures, production aids and assembly fixtures as required for new products. 
  • Compiling and evaluate test and production data, prepare technical analysis, and recommend manufacturing methods and processes required to meet design objectives on new or improved products and/or processes.
  • Conducting cost and feasibility analysis pertaining to the development of new methods, materials, and processes

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering 
  • Requires at least 2 years related experience
  • Prefer candiates in a related industry; sheet metal fabrication, large appliance assembly, automation, robotics
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
  • Experience with analytical and CAD software.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Requires strong knowledge of mechanical and manufacturing theory and design.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
