***The Compensation range for this position is approximately $57,000 - $74,550 based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and education***

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 

  • Under limited supervision, assist mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.
  • Test complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions.
  • Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies.
  • Review project instructions and specifications to identify, modify and plan fabrication requirements, as well as assembly and testing requirements.
  • Record test procedures and results using numerical and graphical data.
  • Help prepare proposals and cost estimates.
  • Assist in establishing work load completion dates.
  • Assist engineering in the planning and testing of electrical/electronic components using advanced testing equipment including:
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Volt-ohm meter
    • Dielectric tester
    • Surge tester
    • Electrostatic discharge tester
    • Data acquisition equipment
    • Programmable power supplies
    • Thermal test chambers

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

 

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two year degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • 5 years related experience.
  • Experienced with setup and testing of HVAC units and sub-assemblies
  • Gas furnace testing
  • Knowledge of HVACR operation principles
  • Familiar with setup of electronic and electromechanical tests setups required
  • Basic understanding and demonstrated experience with voltage/current/resistance and use of ohms law. 
  • Record test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Expert knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • EPA Certification for refrigerant handling preferred
  • Troubleshoot and repair of electronic/electrical circuits and controls.
  • Ability to read and understand electronic control schematics.
  • Generate wiring diagrams for test setups and test fixtures.
