***The Compensation range for this position is approximately $130,000 - $171,150 based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and education***

As the Lab Systems Engineering Manager, you will be hands-on alongside your team of engineers and technicians to calibrate, troubleshoot and implement processes.

 

GENERAL DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 

  • Manage a team of Electrical, Mechanical, Software and Controls engineers focused on maintaining and updating test equipment and testing environments associated with Environmental Test Chambers (ETRs), Gas and Electric Heat, Code Test and Air Handling, Sound and Vibration, etc.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, which are complex in scope.
  • Enforce organized retention of data and revision control with PCs and SCADA Systems, Software Development, Data Acquisition, Electrical Schematics, and other associated devices/equipment.
  • Work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment with a multitude of engineering departments, technical disciplines, and systems.
  • Identify, develop, and implement automated measurement and control processes and procedures to enhance testing capabilities through mechanical systems, controls, and software, while improving the overall user experience.
  • Support execution of Facilities and Engineering Systems capital projects, equipment installation, factory planning and building utility systems.
  • Define problem statements, opportunities, and risk mitigation strategies; plan, maintain and execute to budgets, schedules, and deliverables.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline.
  • 3+ years of engineering supervisory/management experience.
  • Heavy proficiency in project management, MS Project and other MS Office applications.
  • Proficient in Product Lifecycle Management systems (PLM).
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and interfacing to various data acquisition and control systems.
  • Process Control/Hardware Support/Commissioning of Test Systems, including Final Acceptance Testing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, communicates with internal and external customers, vendors, and consultants.
  • Familiarity with human/equipment safety systems, control networks and advanced process control strategies.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings.

DESIRED:

  • Strong understanding of computer hardware.
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems using DMM’s and other instrumentation.
  • Exposure to environmental chamber/thermodynamic test applications.
  • Exposure to National Instruments LabView, InTouch or other HMI software applications.
  • Familiarity with Visual Basic/VBA.
  • Familiarity with database and networking applications.
  • Familiarity with thermodynamics, HVAC, and/or refrigeration systems.
  • Working knowledge of R&D instrument calibration, metrology, and measurement uncertainty.
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 and other testing standards to achieve 100% compliance to agency audits conducted by Intertek, CSA, and UL.
