***The Compensation range for this position is approximately $69,000 - $82,000 based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and education***

As part of the facilities engineering team, the person in this position performs highly complex repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings, facilities, equipment, and systems. Their skills include performing machinery rebuilding, rewiring, reconditioning, refurbishing, repainting, and modifications; leading interdisciplinary teams, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic technicians; and project management and coordination with all facilities work including in-house employees and third-party vendors.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 

  • Maintaining facility power distribution systems.
  • Installing IT switch racks and Ethernet cables.
  • Managing industrial electrician-level distribution.
  • Assembling and maintaining power generation equipment.
  • Installing, operating, and servicing power distribution equipment.
  • Establishing grounding systems.
  • Installing and maintaining lighting, security, telephone, data, and process control systems.
  • Reading blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Overseeing other electricians' training and progress.

Additional roles involve:

  • Collaborating with maintenance crews and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring safety and cleanliness of work areas.
  • Managing inventory and purchasing.
  • Coordinating project teams and inspections.
  • Potentially leading maintenance teams and estimating project budgets.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities (proficiency in 3 or more listed):

  • Plumbing/Fitting: Ability to install and join copper, PVC, SS and steel piping/fittings; General Maintenance/Operation/Repair restrooms.
  • Steam Boiler: Maintenance/Operation/Repair
  • Small Engine: Maintenance/Operation/Repair
  • Hydraulic: Ability to maintain, operate, repair forklifts and scissor lifts and maintain and repair test equipment
  • Building Structure: Ability to maintain and repair roofing, overhead and passenger doors, walls, and indoor/outdoor signage.
  • Security System: Maintenance/Operation/Repair of security system, including badge readers, door sensors & video cameras.
  • Fire System: Maintenance/Operation/Repair of fires system, including alarms and physical piping system, both wet & dry
  • Mechanical: Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions following checklists. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary.
  • HVAC & Refrigeration: Maintenance/Operation/Repair of roof top units and test equipment.
  • Parking Lot Gates and Gate Operators: Maintenance/Operation/Repair.
  • Carpentry, painting, and plastering:  Perform maintenance service/repairs as required.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 8-10 years hands-on electrical experience with Journeyman License OR 6-8 years with Master License. 
  • Current Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR) license. 
    • Please provide TDLR License # along with resume.
  • Proficiency in NFPA 70E and National Electrical Code.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and basic computer skills.
  • Strong organizational and self-starting abilities with exceptional attendance.
