Job Description

Under general supervision, perform general preventative maintenance and simple repairs on manufacturing machines and mechanical equipment.

  • Performs maintenance service and repairs. Repairs or replaces defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
  • Diagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary. Inspects drives, motors, and belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, or performs other maintenance actions, following checklists.
  • Inspects, operates, and tests machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires 1-3 years related experience. May require technical diploma or equivalent.

Strong knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Strong knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings or other structures. Strong knowledge of design techniques, tools, blueprints, drawings, and models. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Must be able move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
