Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

 

This analyst evaluates and designs transportation and distribution procedures to maximize delivery efficiency.

  • Research and analyze freight costs and classifications, delivery methods and delivery schedules to minimize delivery costs and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain databases of freight costs and transportation networks.
  • Assist in negotiating transportation rates in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
  • Assist in the analysis of transportation costs, equipment availability and service levels.
  • Conduct cost studies to develop negotiating leverage, evaluate alternatives and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate foreign merchandise production, quota, customs documentation and transportation as needed.
  • Coordinate transportation logistics between warehouses, carriers, and customers.
  • May work with customs officials to work out delays and obtain release of incoming freight.
  • May assist in compliance with federal regulations.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) or ERP software (e.g., SAP).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

The Compensation range for this position is approximately $54,000k - $68,000k and will be based on the candidate’s qualification, experience, and education.

 

This position is a hybrid role working Monday through Thursday in the office with the option to work on Friday at home.
