Job Description

The Supply Chain Network Optimization Designer will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and optimizing supply chain models and network designs. This role requires a deep understanding of supply chain processes, data analysis, and modeling techniques to support strategic decision-making and enhance overall supply chain performance.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

 

  • Model Development: Design and develop detailed supply chain network models to simulate and analyze supply chain scenarios, including logistics, inventory management, and distribution strategies.
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret supply chain data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Optimization: Utilize advanced modeling tools and techniques to optimize supply chain networks, including facility locations, transportation routes, and inventory levels.
  • Scenario Planning: Conduct "what-if" analyses to evaluate the impact of different supply chain scenarios and recommend actionable strategies to address potential challenges.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, and production, to understand their needs and integrate their requirements into the supply chain models.
  • Space Requirements: Build projections for future warehouse space requirements (5-10 years).
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations on modeling results, cost-benefit analysis, recommendations, and strategic insights for senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continually enhance the supply chain modeling process and tools.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with IT and systems integration teams to ensure that supply chain models and tools are effectively implemented and integrated with existing systems.

The Compensation range for this position is approximately $96,050 - $118,650 and will be based on the candidate’s qualification, experience, and education.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in supply chain modeling, network design, or a related analytical role.
  • Proficiency in supply chain modeling software and tools (e.g., Cosmic Frog, Llamasoft, AnyLogic, IBM LogicNet, FlexSim or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent understanding of supply chain concepts, including logistics, inventory management, and network optimization.
  • Proficient in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, MS Access, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Alterix).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Effectively prioritize and manage multiple assignments.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Experience with advanced analytics and optimization techniques, such as linear programming, simulation, or machine learning.
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and supply chain management software (for example, SAP)
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of Python programming language.
