Job Description

Bilingual (English-Spanish) attorney responsible for managing labor and employment law for Mexico locations.  Ability to draft and negotiate commercial contracts, develop and provide training, and perform other assigned tasks.

 

Collaborate with US Counsel: Help create and implement policies and processes that ensure compliance, minimize legal risks, and support business objectives.  

Provide Expert Legal Advice: Offer strategic guidance on labor and employment matters, helping the organization navigate complex legal terrain.  

Lead Ethics Investigations: Take charge of workplace ethics investigations, resolving issues effectively while upholding our Core Values of Integrity, Respect, and Excellence.  

Design and Deliver Training: Lead training sessions on labor law, compliance, ethics, and company policies for HR, leadership, and employees.  

Union Negotiation Support: Play an active role in developing union negotiation strategies and executing them with precision.  

Manage Litigation Costs: Work with US counsel to minimize employment litigation spend and proactively manage legal risk.  

Contract Negotiation and Review: Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and powers of attorney with the support of US counsel, ensuring alignment with standard legal practices.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Requires Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree from a reputable institution. Deep knowledge of Mexican labor law, employee relations, collective bargaining, and compliance obligations. 
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in labor and employment law, with a  roven track record in this field.Bilingual proficiency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal). 
  • Process-focused mindset with a strong drive for continuous improvement and efficiency.   Excellent public speaking skills in Spanish; experience delivering engaging training sessions and presentations is preferred.   Solid experience in drafting, negotiating, and advising on various contracts, including employment agreements, commercial contracts, and powers of attorney.   Proven ability to conduct workplace investigations and handle ethics-related issues with professionalism. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently while working collaboratively across teams.
