Job Description

Job Summary: The File Scanning Clerk is responsible for converting paper documents into digital formats, ensuring accuracy and quality of the digital files. This role involves preparing documents for scanning, operating scanning equipment, and maintaining an organized digital filing system.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare documents for scanning, including removing staples, paper clips, and other bindings, and repairing any damage to ensure the document is ready for digitization.
  • Use scanning equipment to create digital copies of documents.
  • Perform quality checks of scans to ensure readability and correct any errors or inconsistencies.
  • Index and categorize scanned documents accurately for easy retrieval, following organization protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive documents.
  • Adhere to privacy rules and maintain confidentiality of sensitive documents.
  • Ensure secure destruction of original documents if required, following company or legal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other teams or departments to manage and fulfill scanning requests.
  • Keep up-to-date records of all scanned and pending documents.

Please note that this is a 4-6 week assignment working in our Richardson office Monday - Thursday (32 hours/week).

 

The hourly rate for this role will be $15/hour.                                                                

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using scanning equipment and related software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with privacy and confidentiality regulations.
