Job Description

The individual in this role plans, organizes, directs, and controls the work activities and staff or multiple teams engaged in conducting financial and operational audits, examining the accuracy and completeness of accounting records and procedures for internal control to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory laws. In addition, this role will plan and manage all phases of the Lennox SOX program.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

 

  • Manage all phases of the annual SOX program, including risk assessment, planning and scoping, budgeting and scheduling resources, managing and reviewing testing, coordinating with process and control owners, partnering closely with external audit, and monitoring/communicating results.
  • Manage Financial and Operational audits, including assessing risk, defining audit objectives, and preparing audit programs.
  • Develop and coordinate audit schedules, budgets, and manpower requirements for audit assignments often for multiple teams.
  • Direct and review activities of the auditing section and assign resources to ensure established audit programs are achieving defined objectives.
  • Coordinate department activities with external and government auditors.
  • Lead efforts with other finance and accounting department leaders to collaborate and resolve problems and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Provide consultation and advice to all levels of management through independent review of procedures, practices, controls, and documentation.
  • Identify weaknesses and lead teams to implement process improvements.

Qualifications

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

 

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and a minimum 10 years of related experience - Master's degree preferred
  • Requires at least 3 years’ experience as an audit manager. Licensure required - CPA / CIA / CISA; CPA (or candidate) strongly preferred
  • Public accounting and/or internal auditing experience required
  • Big 4 or Fortune 1000 experience strongly preferred
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Sarbanes-Oxley experience required, including Planning, Scoping, Documentation and Gap Analysis, Testing, Remediation, and Reporting
  • Experience and ability managing professionals in a matrix structured environment
  • Ability to analyze complex business systems and identify risks and control weaknesses; Develop and implement process improvements; Mentor and develop others
  • Build effective partnerships and maximize business relationships
  • Excellent leadership and developmental skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to consult with all levels of management
  • Strong critical reasoning skills, independent judgment and objectivity
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and control concepts
  • Spanish language skills an asset (speaking / writing)
  • Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally

The compensation range for this position is approximately $138,000 - $182,000 and will be based on the candidate’s qualification, experience, and education
