Heatcraft Refrigeration is a long-standing leader in the world of commercial refrigeration, providing climate-control solutions. Their state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the cities of Stone Mountain and Tifton, Georgia, produce evaporators, condensers, compressor racks, and other top-quality refrigeration products for their six market-leading brands: Bohn, Larkin, Climate Control, Chandler, Magna Industrial and InterLink. Heatcraft products are primarily used to preserve food and other perishables in supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, warehouses and distribution centers, in addition to other applications such as data centers, pharmaceutical and industrial process cooling.

Job Description

JOB TITLE:     Supplier Quality Engineer

 

LOCATION:    Stone Mountain, GA (hybrid role, may work from home)

 

DUTIES:

  • Responsible for root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action to improve product/process performance and eliminate waste;
  • collect and analyze statistical data through Cp and Cpk metrics, determine defect patterns and establish quality and reliability objectives;
  • perform Design Of Experiments (DOE) for critical processes, create an experiment plan, develop statistical methods to analyze data, evaluate data using hypothesis testing and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and obtain right factor combination to maximize process efficiency;
  • develop variable (X-Bar R) control charts and Attribute control charts to study the process variables over time and understand the variations for continuous improvement;
  • lead Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) projects to reduce product and process variations;
  • implement Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) for the process sequence to identify critical risks and develop a control plan to contain the risks;
  • conduct Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R&R) and Measurement System Analysis on the measurement devices to reduce the measuring equipment variations;
  • calculate Mean Time Between Failure and Mean Time To Failure using historical failure data for product life improvements;
  • support and maintain ISO 9001-QMS actions and ISO 14001-EMS actions;
  • perform data analysis on major field failures and provide the list of affected units to leadership team for product recall;
  • manage and develop the suppliers by improving the process through monitoring quality and on-time delivery performance;
  • lead and qualify the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for new parts or for parts that has Form, Fit, Function change;
  • approve First Article Inspections and/or Golden Samples;
  • assist with the evaluation and approval of supplier requested changes or improvements;
  • confer with customers, vendors, suppliers and management personnel regarding product specification, process capabilities and manufacturing improvement;
  • perform cost analysis.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering, or related field, and 3 years of experience in the job offered or as a Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Assurance Engineer, or in a related/similar position.
  • Experience therein to include 3 years with PFMEA, PPAP, process capability, data hypothesis, Quality Management Systems, developing X-Bar R control charts, and managing supplier quality issues for root cause and corrective actions; and 1 year with ANOVA, Gage R&R, Six Sigma, 8D analysis, and DOE.
  • Ability to work from home.
