AES a division of Lennox, was established in 1988 and is one of the largest manufacturers of roof curbs and drop box diffuser systems in the nation.  We have recently expanded our capabilities as a single source supplier by adding a Mechanical Services Division as well as becoming a Misc. Steel manufacturer.  These new services will reduce construction costs and eliminate coordination with multiple suppliers and subcontractors.  Our focus will be to enhance the services provided to our General Contractor network nationwide.  AES has 4 different fabrication facility locations nationwide to assist our customers and reduce their freight cost and shipment lead times.

Job Description

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and executing moderately complex shipping and receiving functions. This position ensures the accurate preparation of shipping documentation, scheduling of carriers, and tracking of inbound and outbound shipments. The role serves as a liaison between internal departments and external logistics providers. Communicates with customers to keep them up to date on status of shipments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process shipping documents including bills of lading, packing slips, and invoices for multiple sites.
  • Schedule and coordinate freight pickups and deliveries with carriers.
  • Track and trace shipments; provide status updates to customers.
  • Verify outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping and receiving discrepancies.
  • Communicate with carriers to resolve delivery or pickup issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments and inventory movement.
  • Use shipping software, ERP systems, or TMS platforms for logistics documentation.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics required.
  • Familiarity with ERPs and TMSs preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Occasional lifting of packages up to 30lbs.
  • Working knowledge of logistics software, Excel, and ERP systems.
  • Frequently sitting, typing on a computer, and making phone calls.
  • Frequent walking on production floor and going up and down stairs.
