Lennox is searching for a Highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for HVAC projects in commercial RTU settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in:

  • Power distribution: Single Phase, Three Phase, High & Low voltage
  • Electric motor technologies: Induction, Permanent Magnet
  • Variable frequency drivers
  • Controls
  • Electrical Wiring and Schematics
  • UL & NEC Electrical calculations and specifications.
  • Overall Electrical design specific to HVAC systems.

 

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 

  • Design & Development:
    • Lead the electrical design of HVAC RTU systems, including power distribution, control systems, VFDs, motor technology, electrical protections.
    • Electrical components sizing and calculations.
    • MCA, MOCP calculations – Nameplate Electrical Information
    • Conceptualize and develop criteria to appropriately select optimum electrical components to adhere to specification requirements.
  • Project Oversight:
    • Manage electrical engineering aspects of HVAC projects from concept through production.
    • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, control and software engineers, and other cross functional teams to ensure system integration.
  • Code Compliance:
    • Ensure designs meet NEC, ASHRAE, UL and local electrical codes and safety standards.
    • Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and studies as required.
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Mentor junior electrical engineers and provide technical guidance.
    • Conduct peer reviews and approve design documentation.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting:
    • Support field and internal development testing troubleshooting of HVAC systems.
    • Provide root cause analysis and corrective action planning for complex technical issues.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Prepare specifications and component selection documentation.
    • Maintain thorough project records and contribute to design reviews.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical design and engineering, with at least 5 years in HVAC-related industry.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems – Electrical subsystem.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience on HVAC airflow sub-system (indoor and outdoor)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience working in design-build environments.
