Job Description

***The Compensation range for this position is approximately $95,000 - $115,000 based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and education***

This engineer designs, fabricates, modifies and evaluates complex mechanical and electro-mechanical components, sub-systems and systems. The person in this position may also provide work leadership for lower-level employees.

 

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 

  • Design, modify and evaluate complex mechanical and electro-mechanical components, sub-systems, and systems.
  • Write and design test procedures, compile and evaluate design and test data and prepare technical specifications.
  • Coordinate efforts with designers/drafters, technical writers, engineering technicians, sheet-metal fabrication and machine shop, and materials lab personnel as needed.
  • Recommend design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products or processes.
  • Coordinate with technical support personnel to conduct prototypes or experimental runs for products or processes.
  • Identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities in product design, materials, and manufacturing processes. 
  • Leading or contributing to VAVE projects, managing timelines, working with sourcing, manufacturing, and field support teams ensuring the timely implementation of cost effective solutions.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

 

  • Requires a minimum of bachelor's degree in engineering with the emphasis on Fluid Sciences, Heat Transfer, and Combustion.
  • Requires at least 5 year of experience in product design and development, and/or managing and implementing material cost reductions ideas in the field of HVAC preferably with the appliances using fossil fuels.
  • Experience with Product design and development tools and process such as design concept and evaluation, Design FMEA, Design documentation, testing for design validation, Independent Design Reviews, and subsequent engineering changes are a must.
  • Understanding of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
  • Experience with analytical and CAD software.
  • Requires knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
