Heatcraft products are primarily used to preserve food and other perishables in supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, warehouses and distribution centers, in addition to other applications such as data centers, pharmaceutical and industrial process cooling.

Job Description

Location: Tifton, GA (100% Onsite)

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As a Controls Engineer at Heatcraft, you will lead and support complex software engineering efforts related to embedded systems, electronic controls, and system integration. Your work will play a key role in optimizing our automation and controls infrastructure.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and integrate embedded software and control system components.

  • Take technical ownership of projects or phases of projects, from planning through execution.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate engineering support staff to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Develop and implement software applications, including Windows-based tools and interfaces.

  • Translate system specifications into robust, scalable software components.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers as needed.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:

 

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 3 years of related experience
  • A solid understanding of control and automation concepts, including PLC tags, OPC, and control network protocols
  • Experience with database querying and basic administration
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proficiency in software design, coding, integration, simulation, and communication protocols
  • Familiar with software development tools.
  • Working knowledge of basic programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Visual Basic)
  • Familiarity with software development tools and version control systems

  • Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley control devices

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to coordinate and direct the work of teams

 

We are considering candidates at Levels I through III for this position. The salary range is approximately $72,000 to $140,000 and will be based on the individual’s experience, education, and qualifications.
