Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

 

This manager leads a team in the expert application of statistical and qualitative methods to optimize inventory settings, policies and practices. In addition to managing all aspects of leading and developing team members, the person in this position ensures the effective communication and validation of strategic inventory assortment and working capital objectives.

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Lead team through continuously changing operations, using resources to ensure team level performance and cohesion.
  • Development and oversight of global, regional, and local inventory strategies and processes that optimize customer satisfaction while balancing cost and efficiencies
  • Subject Matter Expert upon the company standard algorithms that use statistical approaches to assign target stocking levels
  • Understanding and influence of inventory control parameters that optimize inventory and ordering patterns (ABC/Lot sizes/Min Ord quantities/Replenishment Frequency)
  • Refine, monitor & mitigate key metrics to measure inventory results and performance
  • Proactively drive process & mitigation of Excess & Obsolete inventory and ensure appropriate financial reserves are considered
  • Proficient and comfortable in presenting results to executive management
  • Acts as liaison between cross functional and global groups, by conducting meetings, reviewing process details, and obtaining commitment and approvals

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires at least 8 years related experience.
  • A master's degree or equivalent is preferred.
    Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Broad business acumen.
  • Expert at inventory optimization analysis and best practices.
  • Expert application of appropriate statistical methods to large data sets.
  • Understands how decisions impacts sales, attrition, working capital, and costs.
  • Expert understanding of Supply Chain Management principles.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent continuous improvement skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to recruit, interview, select, and develop professional team members.
  • Ability to motivate employees.
  • Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
  • Strong functional knowledge of SAP ECC master data requirement.
  • Working knowledge of SAP APO or equivalent.
  • Able to define configuration parameters for inventory optimization technology toolsets (SO99, i2, Manugistics, etc.).
  • Expert application of standard statistical technology packages (SPSS, Minitab, etc.) output to define settings within inventory optimization software.
  • Able to configure software to optimize multi-echelon inventory networks.
  • Able to define and configure parameters for lot size optimization within technology toolset.

The compensation range for this position is approximately $xxk - $xxk and will be based on the candidate’s qualification, experience, and education.
