Job Description

The Director, Business Development will be a key member of the Lennox Residential [Home Comfort Solutions] leadership team, responsible for driving strategic growth in the Residential HVAC industry. This role has functional ownership of leading sales execution of identified new product categories, delivering against new business development targets, and leading the onboarding of new customers. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of the HVAC market, strong strategic thinking, and a proven ability to build new revenue streams. Be prepared for up to 30% travel.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

 

  • Strategic Growth Leadership 
  • Lead the identification and evaluation of new customer opportunities aligned with residential HVAC trends and customer needs. 
  • Develop and execute business development strategies that support long-term revenue growth. 
  • Own and drive performance against annual new business targets. 
  • New Product Category Development 
  • Champion the commercialization of innovative product offerings that expand the company's portfolio. 
  • Partner cross-functionally with product management, engineering, sourcing, and marketing to ensure successful market implementation. 
  • Customer Development & Onboarding 
  • Build and nurture relationships with prospective customers and channel partners to drive new account acquisition. 
  • Ensure seamless transition of new accounts to account management or sales operations teams post-onboarding. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration 
  • Work closely with the executive leadership team to align business development efforts with overall business goals. 
  • Collaborate with marketing to position new products and categories effectively in the market. 
  • Coordinate with operations and supply chain to support scalability and fulfillment needs for new business. 
  • Financial Management: 
  • Develop sales forecasts and necessary budget to deliver overall new business targets. 
  • Manage the profitability of new business projects, ensuring alignment with company financial goals. 

 

This position is based in the office, Monday through Friday.  

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing or related field (MBA preferred). 
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or category leadership, ideally in the HVAC or residential building products industry. 
  • Proven success launching new product categories and acquiring new business in a competitive market. 
  • Deep understanding of HVAC channels, customers, building products industry. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. 
  • Highly entrepreneurial mindset with a strategic, growth-oriented approach. 
  • 30% travel to customers.
