As an Advanced Technology Intern at Lennox, you will gain hands on experience with latest HVAC technologies. Your role involves assisting with research and development projects, analyzing data, and supporting prototype testing for innovative HVAC technologies. You will collaborate with engineers and contribute to solving complex technical challenges, while staying updated on industry trends. This is approximately a 10 to 12-week program that will provide you with real work experiences to grow your career and provide exposure to business leaders throughout the company.

Successful interns will have the potential opportunity of joining Lennox Full-Time upon graduation. Relocation and/or travel may be required for your position.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? 

Required Qualifications: 

• Understanding of HVAC&R principles such as thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics
• Knowledge of design of experiments, instrumentation, and data acquisition and data analysis
• Scientific programming with VBA, Python, EES
• Proficiency in MS Office 
• Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills
• Interest or desire to effectively lead project teams
• Strong communication skills

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU AN EDGE?

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field
• Understanding of HVAC standards
• Knowledge of motors, sensors, and control systems
• Well organized & detail oriented
• Ability to work independent as well as part of a team
• Passion for producing high quality work

Requires current enrollment in a Masters or PhD Engineering program.

Developing professional knowledge in the area of expertise. Solid written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office.

WHAT WE OFFER:

Compensation: This is an hourly non-exempt role. The starting pay range for this role and market is between $22.50-$25.00/hour. This rate is based on the intern's current year in their respective university programs. Graduate students may receive a higher rate of pay based on their year in school. Employees in this role are also eligible to earn overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law).
