Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

 

This analyst is responsible for securing and analyzing quotations and conducting difficult negotiations with all levels of both domestic and international suppliers for the purchase of fixed assets, parts, tooling materials and/or services. The typical annual dollar buy is $100 to $300 million.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Develop and implement commodity strategies to establish long-term sourcing.
  • Monitor and help improve supplier performance including On time delivery and Cost Reduction.
  • Expedite the procurement of parts or materials in short or critical supply.
  • Perform market analyses and competitive evaluations.
  • Coordinate quality matters, engineering and price changes between company components and suppliers.
  • Negotiate and settle with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, cancellations and engineering change orders.
  • Develop and implement long-term sourcing strategies.
  • Provide direction and training to inventory buyers and planners as needed.

Qualifications

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires at least 5 years related experience.
  • Has broad expertise including purchasing for lean manufacturing, Kanban and supplier development. May be the in-house expert in specific areas.
  • Requires excellent negotiation abilities and strong analytical skills.
  • Shows exceptional verbal and written communication skills including with executives or in international contexts.
  • Requires knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control.
  • Must have knowledge of economic principles and financial markets.
  • Competent in computerized procurement systems.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. May require MS Access experience.

What We Offer

Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between 82K to 105K annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.
