Position Overview

 

The Safety Leader will evaluate, design, and implement safety and health programs that ensure compliance, minimize risk, and promote continuous improvement in safety performance. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the safety culture across our newly acquired operations while also supporting Lennox’s broader EHS goals in sustainability, ergonomics, environmental compliance, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

 

Leadership & Strategy

  • Establish and promote a shared vision for EHS excellence across all operations.
  • Serve as the primary EHS leader for Duro Dyne and Supco, aligning efforts with corporate strategies and goals.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to reduce workplace safety and ergonomic risks, environmental impacts, and sustainability footprints.
  • Lead organizational change management and continuous improvement initiatives related to safety culture and compliance.
  • Provide guidance and training on safety protocols, proper equipment usage, and emergency response procedures.
  • Implement best in class EHS strategies, programs, and practices.
  • Develop new and creative methods to drive continuous improvement of EHS practices.
  • Act as an advisor to the leadership team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Oversee facility audits, corrective actions, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and respond to regulatory changes, ensuring proactive compliance planning.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; oversee corrective and preventive action plans.

Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship

  • Develop and implement sustainability initiatives focused on energy use, greenhouse gas reduction, waste management, and water stewardship.
  • Manage environmental remediation sites, including strategy, budgeting, and assessments.
  • Measure and report sustainability performance, driving accountability and transparency.

Engagement & Continuous Improvement

  • Foster employee engagement through safety campaigns, communication, and training initiatives.
  • Mentor and coach operational leaders to strengthen ownership of safety performance.
  • Recognize and celebrate individual and team contributions to safety and sustainability achievements.
  • Utilize data and KPIs to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

What We Are Looking For

Experience and Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of progressive experience leading EHS programs in a multi-site manufacturing, distribution, or service environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven success developing and implementing safety, ergonomics, and sustainability strategies that drive measurable improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant EHS regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence at all organizational levels, and foster a culture of accountability.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional) are preferred
  • Proven track record in driving a cultural and behavioral change
  • Demonstrated influence and coaching skills
  • Hands on approach to assessing risk and leading change – on the shop floor and in the field
  • Strong communication, analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills

Other Work Requirements

  • This role is based in Long Island, NY and requires 30% travel to other locations.

 

What We Offer

Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $128k - $168k of MRP annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus of 10% in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.

Depending on date of hire, and subject to applicable eligibility requirements, new employees in this role also receive up to: 12 days paid time off, 2 paid well-being days, 1 paid volunteer day, 12 paid holidays, and 3 floating holidays per year.
