As a Lead Engineer, you will drive the design, layout, and testing of residential gas furnace products and components. This role involves collaborating across multiple departments to innovate and enhance current offerings while developing future solutions. With Lennox’s strong focus on sustainability, you will apply your combustion expertise to ensure compliance with DOE efficiency standards and CSA/ANSI Z21.47 safety requirements.

 

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 

  • Lead product development for residential gas furnaces in accordance with CSA/ANSI Z21.47 and DOE standards.
  • Interpret and implement customer specifications and documentation, ensuring adherence to internal best practices and CSA safety standards.
  • Apply engineering principles to perform analyses and tests for new designs, materials, and processes.
  • Conduct engineering studies to identify innovation opportunities, patents, root cause analysis, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to improve existing products through proper channels.

What We Are Looking For

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Requires at least 8 years related experience in HVAC industry especially in Gas heating products.
  • Knowledge in heat transfer and combustion process.
  • Knowledge in ANSI Z21.47 Standard for Gas-Fired central furnaces.
  • Comprehension of practical applications of engineering science and technology.
  • Requires expert knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

What We Offer

Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $115,000 - $135,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for the BroadBase Incentive (BBI) program with a target payout of 2%. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.

 

Location and Schedule: This position is located in Carrollton, TX and will be in the office Monday through Friday.

Paid Time Off: Depending on date of hire, and subject to applicable eligibility requirements, new employees in this role also receive up to: 12 days paid time off, 2 paid well-being days, 1 paid volunteer day, 9 to 11 paid company holidays depending on the year, and 3 floating holidays per year.
