JOB TITLE:             Mechanical Engineer IV

 

LOCATION:            1600 Metrocrest Dr, Carrollton, TX 75006 (Hybrid role, may work from home)

 

DUTIES:   

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of PLM systems to ensure efficient product lifecycle management.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of product data within the PLM system.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to facilitate seamless product development and lifecycle management.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of PLM processes and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to team members on PLM tools and best practices.
  • Design and propose strategies to enhance PLM processes, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.
  • Lead the implementation of approved PLM improvements, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Track the performance of implemented improvements, adjusting as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Design and implement robust product architectures that meet business and technical requirements.
  • Optimize Bills of Material (BOMs) by identifying and implementing reusability strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to ensure seamless integration of reusable components.
  • Perform detailed analysis of existing BOMs to identify opportunities for reusability and efficiency improvements.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of product architecture and BOM strategies.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve product architecture and BOM efficiency.
  • Assist product managers in planning, executing, and monitoring project implementations to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Work closely with factory teams to ensure smooth implementation of projects, addressing any issues that arise during the process.
  • Act as a liaison between product Engineering and factory teams, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

What We Are Looking For

REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or as a Product Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or in a related/similar position.
  • Experience therein to include 5 years in the following:
    • Configuring Bill of Material (BOM) in manufacturing factories;  
    • Interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications;   
    • Using CAD software such as Creo or AutoCAD;
    • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) like PTC Windchill;
    • ERP platforms such as SAP; 
    • Managing various BOM structures, including engineering, manufacturing, service BOMs, and multi-level and configurable BOMs; and
    • Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), including Change Notice and Change Request, and version control in windchill.
  • Hybrid role, ability to work from home.
