What Drives Success

Position Overview:

The Senior Manager of Training & Development for Lennox Residential is responsible for leading a team of managers who oversee technical trainers and dealer training programs. This role requires a strategic leader with strong HVAC expertise, proven experience in training design and delivery, and the ability to align training initiatives with organizational goals. The Senior Manager will ensure that training programs for employees and dealers are effective, scalable, and continuously evolving to meet business needs, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Department Leadership

  • Manage and develop managers responsible for technical training and dealer training programs.
  • Provide clear direction, set performance standards, and coach managers to achieve excellence.
  • Align departmental training strategies with overall business objectives and industry trends.

Training Strategy & Execution

  • Build and execute proactive training strategies that ensure employees and dealers have the appropriate depth of knowledge.
  • Oversee the assessment, design, deployment, and evaluation of training curricula.
  • Ensure training programs remain current, relevant, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Program Development & Delivery

  • Direct managers in defining, documenting, and maintaining training guidelines.
  • Oversee blended delivery methods including classroom, demonstrations, on-the-job training, workshops, and e-learning.
  • Lead certification and accreditation initiatives within the Lennox Learning Center.
  • Ensure technical training labs meet established standards through quarterly site reviews and audits.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with leadership, sales directors, field leadership, territory managers, and store managers to align training with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with content developers, sales, and marketing teams to ensure timely creation and deployment of training materials.
  • Serve as a liaison with dealer contacts to incorporate the voice of the customer into training programs.

Contractor & Resource Management

  • Oversee managers who recruit, evaluate, and manage external contract trainers.
  • Negotiate, design, and manage contracts to ensure instructional quality and alignment with company values.
  • Ensure budget goals are met while maintaining high standards of training delivery.

Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct ongoing evaluations of training effectiveness, using feedback and performance metrics to refine curricula and delivery methods.
  • Promote training programs, articulate their value, and drive participation across employee and dealer segments.
  • Engage training champions to advocate for and support initiatives in the field.

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in training and development, with at least 3–5 years managing managers.
  • Strong HVAC equipment engineering and application knowledge.
  • Proven expertise in blended learning design and delivery methods.
  • Exceptional project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility and strong relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, coaching, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Competencies:

 

  • Strategic thinker with a systems perspective on training development and delivery.
  • Ability to motivate and influence managers and teams to achieve results.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with experience in needs assessment and satisfaction evaluation.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles including strategic planning, resource allocation, and leadership techniques.

 

What We Offer

Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $127,200 - $166,950 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.

Depending on date of hire, and subject to applicable eligibility requirements, new employees in this role also receive up to: 12 days paid time off, 2 paid well-being days, 1 paid volunteer day, 12 paid holidays, and 3 floating holidays per year.
