Under general supervision, designs, builds and repairs a variety of tools, jigs, fixtures, welding, brazing, and assembly fixtures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Troubleshoot and repair complex stamping dies.
• Fabrication of die tooling/components from samples or engineering drawings.
• Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications; adjust as necessary.
• Preventative maintenance of dies.
• Die setup and changeovers on presses.
• Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.

POSITION SUMMARY:  Under the direction of the department supervisor and or Tool & Die Lead this person will setup and changeover dies, repair and modify dies, make fixtures and gauges to very specific and precise dimensions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: 

Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires 1-3 years related experience.

Qualifications for this job include but are not limited to:

• Equipment background to include experience operating lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grinders resulting in prescribed dimensions and finishes.
• Must have the physical ability to perform all job duties and responsibilities as listed above.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to stand 100% of the scheduled workday.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, twist and reach in all directions frequently and without difficulty.

Compensation: This is an hourly non-exempt role. The starting pay range for this role and market is $31.90/hour, and the full pay range for employees in this role and market is between $31.90 – $34.00. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography/market, and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible to earn overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law).
