What Drives Success

We are seeking a forward-thinking and operationally mature Safety Engineer II to advance our safety, ergonomics, programs. This role supports the development, implementation, and continuous refinement of systems that enhance workplace safety, drive ergonomic improvements, and uphold the highest environmental quality standards.

 

Working under general supervision, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to translate real-world experience, situational understanding, and technical insight into practical, proactive solutions. In this role, relevant industry experience, hands-on expertise, and proven capability will be considered fully equivalent to a bachelor’s degree. Candidates who have built their knowledge through professional practice, field-based responsibilities, or progressive roles in safety and environmental compliance are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regional Distribution Center and Lennox Stores primary internal auditor.
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety and ergonomic programs that produce measurable year-over-year improvements.
  • Participate in the design, evaluation, and development of facilities, workspaces, and work processes; provide informed EHS recommendations to leadership and support teams.
  • Assist in establishing methods that promote continuous improvement of safety, and regulatory compliance systems.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update, safety, and policy/procedure manuals to align with current standards and organizational needs. Secondary back up to the Environmental Engineer.
  • Support compliance efforts by monitoring regulatory requirements, tracking emerging OSHA legislation, and ensuring team remain informed of changes.
  • Facilitate training initiatives as needed, and help develop materials that reinforce safe work practices, and compliance expectations.

  • Learning Agility: Quickly absorbs new information, tools, and requirements to support a dynamic EHS function.

What We Are Looking For

  • Equivalent combination of experience and education (Bachelor Degree with 3-5 Years Preferred):
  • Candidates may substitute a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in EHS, safety engineering, compliance, or related fields, and be willing to work towards a degree.
  • Demonstrated field experience, applied technical knowledge, or industry‑specific certifications are strongly valued.
  • Developing knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and workers’ compensation best practices.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate technical guidance into clear, practical direction for employees and leaders.
  • Experience supporting or delivering training programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving regulatory expectations and organizational priorities.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications (OSHA 30, ASP) or specialized environmental/safety training.
  • Experience interacting with OSHA, EPA, state agencies, or external auditors.
  • Background supporting warehousing, manufacturing, logistics, industrial, construction, or high‑risk operations.
  • Demonstrated history of improving compliance systems or ergonomic programs.

What We Offer

Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $73,000 - $95,550 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.
