Role Summary

 

The Director of FP&A, Building Climate Solutions is the senior FP&A leader for the Building Climate Solutions Segment at Lennox. This role leads FP&A activities for the Segment which generates more than $1.9B through four businesses. The four businesses manufacture and distribute equipment and provide services to customers in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. It is an exciting time to be part of the Building Climate Solutions Segment as we continue to experience significant top and bottom-line growth.

 

Beyond core FP&A responsibilities, this role plays a critical leadership function across the Segment—driving alignment across business units, bringing clarity to financial priorities, and ensuring consistent, accurate, and decision-oriented financial messaging to senior leadership.

 

This highly visible role interacts with all levels of leadership within Lennox and the Building Climate Solutions Segment. This senior position serves as a key strategic advisor to the VP Finance and Segment leadership, leading FP&A for the segment and transforming financial data into clear, actionable insights that drive business performance and decision-making. The role is expected to proactively identify risks and opportunities, influence outcomes, drive best practices and ensure alignment across the Segment.

 

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate brings a strong FP&A foundation, preferably within a manufacturing environment, with experience leading short-term and long-term planning processes including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. Successful candidates demonstrate the ability to move beyond reporting to proactively generate insights, clearly explain business drivers, and identify emerging risks and opportunities.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, compelling insights through presentations, models, and visualizations that are tailored to the audience and drive informed decision-making. Based in Richardson, TX, this role will frequently interact with teams throughout the United States and Mexico.

The Director of FP&A must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate performance and results across the Segment, including senior leaders, with clarity and precision—explaining key drivers, trade-offs, and recommended actions, and appropriately challenging assumptions when needed.

 

Key Responsibilities

    • Lead FP&A activities for the Building Climate Solutions segment, including forecasting, annual operating planning (AOP), long-range planning, and monthly performance analysis
    • Drive alignment across business units on financial assumptions, forecasts, and performance narratives to ensure a consistent view of results and outlook
    • Partner closely with business unit finance teams to challenge assumptions, improve forecast accuracy, and elevate overall FP&A rigor across the segment
    • Ensure financial reporting and analysis are not only accurate and timely, but also insightful, forward-looking, and decision-oriented
    • Proactively identify financial risks and opportunities, ensuring leadership has early visibility and actionable plans to address variances to expectations
    • Lead the preparation and delivery of executive-level financial materials, including management review packages and Board of Directors presentations, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and a strong focus on key messages and actions
    • Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, tools, and analytics, including identifying opportunities to leverage technology and automation to enhance productivity and insight generation
    • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve financial performance
    • Serve as a strategic finance leader and thought partner to Segment leadership by translating financial results into clear insights, identifying key business drivers, and recommending actions to improve performance
    • Represent FP&A in key business and finance discussions, contributing perspectives, facilitating decision-making, and helping drive accountability for outcomes
    • Develop and coach FP&A talent across the segment, fostering a culture of accountability, business acumen, and continuous improvement

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, including similar leadership roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (or related major) required. MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Prefer experience with a North America public company, ideally $1 billion or more of annual revenue
  • Strong knowledge and experience related to FP&A activities including processes, analysis, short term and long term plan development, etc.
  • Experience with financial tools and systems such as Hyperion and SAP

 



What We Offer

Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.
