The primary function of the position is to perform preventative, routine, and corrective maintenance on the facility, equipment, and building systems to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable work environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure implementation of Company safety, health, and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed, and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
  2. Commitment to the Company’s policies, principles, and procedures and adheres the Company’s procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (“EH&S”), Equal Employment Opportunity (“EEO”), discipline/corrective action, and security.
  3. Complete maintenance work orders and tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
  4. Conduct daily facility inspections and ensure PPE requirements and safety standards are followed.
  5. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of maintenance supplies, tools, and repair materials.
  6. Work with maintenance tools (hand tools, power tools and meters)
  7. Complete assigned maintenance projects accurately and report completion status to the Maintenance Manager.
  8. Perform routine inspections of buildings, systems and equipment.
  9. Repair basic mechanical and structural issues (walls, floors, ceilings, plumbing and heating).
  10. Handling minor carpentry, painting and repairs.
  11. Climbing ladders and using man lifts and possibly working in confined spaces.
  12. Escort subcontractors on property when needed.
  13. Communicate any issues that arise effectively to Manager
  14. Operate equipment safely while maintaining clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.
  15. Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and completed work orders.
  16. Other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements:

  • Math skills and ability to read standard rulers.
  • Ability to operate material handling and tools required to perform tasks.
  • Must be flexible – OT and nights and weekend are required as needed.
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and/or boom lifts (training provided if required).
  • Ability to read maintenance manuals, work orders, and basic technical drawings.
  • Basic computer skills for documenting work orders and maintenance activities.
  • Valid driver's license preferred (if company vehicles are used).

What We Are Looking For

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent trade school.

Experience 

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial facility maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment and facility systems.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance programs is preferred.

Physical Requirements 

  • Must be in good physical condition.
  • Must be able to stand and/or bend for long periods of time (Varied based on daily tasks)
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs
  • Must have good hand/eye coordination.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder.
  • Ability to frequently walk throughout a manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to reach overhead, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in confined spaces as needed.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, noise levels, and manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders and operate elevated work platforms.
  • Ability to wear required PPE at all times.

What We Offer

Compensation: This is an hourly non-exempt role. The starting pay range for this role and market is between $22.00-$27.00/hour. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography/market, and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible to earn overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law).
