What Drives Success

Serves as the lead transportation planning subject matter expert, driving continuous improvement across transportation operations, systems, and processes. Leads TMS optimization initiatives, develops and delivers planner training, and establishes best practices that improve efficiency, service, visibility, and cost performance. Partners across the organization to streamline transportation processes and strengthen transportation planning capabilities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver transportation planner training, onboarding, and knowledge-sharing programs.
  • Establish and maintain transportation planning standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Develop transportation system documentation, training materials, and standard work.
  • Host carrier performance reviews with carrier representatives and internal stakeholders, identify performance gaps, and develop corrective action plans to improve service, cost, and compliance.
  • Lead enterprise transportation cost reduction initiatives with annual savings targets exceeding $500,000.
  • Lead TMS configuration, testing, enhancement, and user adoption activities.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities that improve planner productivity and workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of transportation or supply chain experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading major transportation improvement initiatives and strategic projects.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of transportation operations, freight optimization, and transportation planning.
  • Ability to influence process improvements and best practice adoption across functions.
  • Deep understanding of transportation management systems and supply chain technologies.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to lead system enhancements, process optimization, and cross-functional improvement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements, system enhancements, and user adoption initiatives.

Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $99,000 - $130,200 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.

What We Are Looking For

Requires an associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires at least 8 years relevant experience.

Attention to detail. Strong time management and organization skills. Communication skills and ability to work well with other cross functional teams. Quality management skills. Knowledge of TMS, SAP, Excel systems. Planning skills. Understanding various transportation modes: LTL, Truck Load, Intermodal.
