What Drives Success

The Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for planning, designing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing processes in an industrial plant environment. Under general supervision, this role provides direct technical and advisory support to manufacturing operations, including machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly, material handling, plant layout, equipment support, and new product introduction. The Manufacturing Engineer II applies engineering principles, production data, and hands-on floor support to improve safety, quality, cost, delivery, and overall operational effectiveness.

 

Manufacturing Process Design & Technical Support

  • Plan, design, and improve manufacturing processes, procedures, production aids, and assembly fixtures in support of plant operations.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing operations such as machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly, and material handling.
  • Support production floor and assembly teams on matters related to assembly drawing interpretation, Engineering Change Notices, rework, manufacturing difficulties, and product or process specifications.
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and other technical support personnel to resolve manufacturing issues and sustain process improvements.

Process Analysis, Standards & Continuous Improvement

  • Compile and evaluate test and production data, prepare technical analyses, and recommend manufacturing methods and processes required to meet design objectives for new or improved products and processes.
  • Conduct analyses or tests related to the development of new methods, materials, processes, or standards, and provide recommendations based on findings.
  • Prepare process specifications, procedures, manufacturing plans, factory cost work standards, and assignments of similar complexity.
  • Conduct MRP support studies and provide data-driven recommendations to improve material flow, production efficiency, and manufacturing performance.

Plant Layout, Equipment & Project Support

  • Support plant layout projects, including material presentation, line balancing, staffing balance, equipment movement, and workflow optimization.
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support for new machinery, machinery refurbishment, equipment replacement, upgrades, and process capability improvements.
  • Support new product introduction activities by evaluating manufacturing feasibility, process requirements, routings, assembly methods, fixtures, and production readiness.
  • Recommend changes to manufacturing methods, tools, layout, and equipment to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost performance.

Collaboration & Technical Coordination

  • Coordinate with other technical support personnel to implement manufacturing solutions and resolve production challenges.
  • May assign work to drafters, technicians, technical writers, engineering technicians, and machine shop personnel as required.
  • Communicate technical findings, process recommendations, and project updates clearly to cross-functional partners and leadership.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field required.
  • At least 1 year of related manufacturing engineering experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
  • Experience with analytical and CAD software.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and manufacturing theory and design.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

What We Offer

Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $78,000 - $101,850 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.
